The new system Gas condensing boilers for high performance The­GWS­decided­on­modern­energy-saving­technology­ by­ELCO­–­the­RENDAMAX­3406­and­RENDAMAX­3408­ gas­condensing­boilers­–­in­place­of­the­obsolete­oil-fired­ heating­boilers.­In­addition,­a­modern­block-type­heating­ power­station­was­installed,­with­an­electrical­output­of­ 49.5­kW­and­a­thermal­output­of­97.2­kW.­Taking­both­ components­boiler­and­heating­power­station,­into­ account,­a­very­high­efficiency­of­about­96­%­was­achieved­ in­the­first­year­after­commissioning.­ The­ELCO­gas­condensing­boilers­are­characterised­by­their­ high­heat­output,­low­consumption­and­low­emission­values.­ In­addition,­they­are­compact­and­space-saving.­The­ener-­ getic­performance­of­ELCO­boilers­is­very­high. ­ Thanks­to­the­infinite­adjustment­of­the­modulation­of­the­burn-­ er­power,­the­burners­adapt­precisely­to­the­actual­heating­ demands­in­the­building.­The­high­modulation­shortens­the­ burner­running­times,­and­the­run-up­emissions­are­signifi- cantly­reduced.­Thanks­to­the­wide­modulation­range­of­470­–­­ 3,860­kW,­great­quantities­of­energy­can­be­saved.­This­is­easy­ on­the­wear­parts,­and­reduces­the­maintenance­effort.­With­ the­advanced­boiler­management­with­load­regulation­and­ digital,­automatic­burner­controls,­it­would­also­be­possible­­ to­arrange­several­boilers­in­a­cascade.­ Equipment Boiler Rated power Total power Total energy consumption Old system Viessmann­LT­boiler­ 1,500/1,750­kW 5,000­kW­ ≈­6,205­MWh­per­year,­oil Loss­through­waste­gases­15­%­ Equipment Boilers Rated power Total power Total energy consumption New system R­3406­+­R­3408 1,189­+­1,456­kW 2,685­kW ≈­5,026­MWh­per­year,­gas Energy-supply­contracting­for­a­block­of­flats Modern­heating­technology­that­­ convinces­with­efficiency­
